The Incident
According to education news Kenya, the girl was serving as her class secretary when she noted the names of noisy students. As a result, the teacher punished those involved. In vengeance, the students ganged up and beat her severely, causing spinal injuries and paralysis. She is currently receiving medical care at Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Not a different case
This case is not unique. In 2019, a seven -year -old boy died in Zambia, when classmates attacked him to write his name in a list of noisemakers’, as reported by Linda Ikeji’s Blog. Similarly, in 2024, according to a Southern Eye, a girl from Zimbabwe, the brain damage was done after beating classmates from misuse of school chalk.
