President William Ruto confirmed his commitment to support religious institutions, stating that he would continue to donate church despite criticism. On Sunday, March 9, 2025, the President donated KSH 20 million to the African Inland Church (AIC) Fellowship Annex in Eldoreat Uasin Gishu County to support his construction.
Speaking during service, Ruto rejected critics of his generosity, saying that his contribution is a personal function of faith. He said that people opposing church donations do not believe in God’s work and emphasized that under his leadership, Kenya would maintain religious values (Tuko, Standard).
The President has been supportive of religious institutions for a long time. His recent donation follows the same contribution to Jesus winning ministry in Nairobi, which also expressed a debate. However, the status is stable, arguing that the church plays an important role in shaping the morality of the society and mentioning generations to come.
While critics question the sources of their donations, Ruto insisted that their giving lies in confidence. His unwavering support for churches reveals his faith in the role of religion in nation-building.
